JMK MOTORSPORT is registered small company. At the moment main business is build and race with Locost car, but several other works for the cars will be carried out also in the same time. JMK MOTORSPORT offers customized services e.g. custom made exhaust modifications etc. for all kind of cars. In these pages I will concentrade to keep diary of the building- and racing of the Locost car.

Locost car is based on the Lotus 7 car which was renowned as light two seats sports car. In Finland this Locost car is only for the race use, none of these home made cars can not be registered on the road use like in Britain or some other EU countries.
Racing with Locost cars in Finland happens under the Historic Race Finland (http://www.historicrace.fi) There is about 20 cars at the moment and more is under construction all the time. Locost car is one of the fastest racing class without any aerodynamic wings here in Finland. Cars weigh approx. 600 kg and they have more than 200 bhp.

Basically the whole car can be done in home garage and most of the cars has been built like this. Car frame has been made from small steel pipes. Side panels are aluminum and glass fiber. Brakes can be use just ordinary small car brakes, but most common way is use aftermarket brakes as Wilwood, etc.
Locost car has to be build by using the rules of Suomen Locost yhdistys Ry. and AKK Motorsport which is the main confederation in car racing here in Finland. Most of these rules is convergent with rules in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, so this means that cars from these countries can race in the same series.

JMK MOTORSPORT car has been under the construction since 2008 main reason for the delays has been my works which keeps me travel all the time. This year I have set the target that car will be finish in year 2010 so we will see JMK MOTORSPORT Locost on the Finish Locost series in year 2011

During this year (2010) JMK MOTORSPORT Locost will be in present in HOT ROD & ROCK SHOW between 24.-25.04.2010 In Tampere Finland.
After that car will be present in Power Bike Finland 8.5.2010 in Raisio Finland
I hope that also during summer my car will be present in different events around the Finland.

JMK MOTORSPORT Locost try to be present in all possible exhibition or event which is arranged by any of the supporters or sponsors. Of course, racing is priority number one.

I will try to update building diary when something has been done, but unfortunately at the moment it will happens by finish language.
